...NWS Damage Survey for 05/16/16 Tornado Event - Update 2...

.Update...This update is to include surveys performed in Dallam
County.

.Overview...A surface low over northeast New Mexico moved southeast
across the region during the late afternoon and evening hours ahead

Mexico during the afternoon before moving southeast across the
Panhandles. The environment was marginally favorable for tornado
development in the Texas Panhandle and three supercell storms
produced tornadoes in the afternoon and evening hours. In all there
were seven tornadoes with this event. Only four of the tornadoes
caused minor damage and were surveyed. The other three were well
documented by spotters and storm chasers through photos and

no visible damage.
