...PROLONGED PERIOD OF SNOW...GUSTY WINDS...AND HAZARDOUS WINTER
TRAVEL CONDITIONS FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND HIGH VALLEYS...

.PERIODS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE TODAY THROUGH
THIS EVENING AND THEN BECOME HEAVIER AGAIN LATE TONIGHT INTO MONDAY
AS WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVE ACROSS THE STATE.

IN ADDITION...STRONG GUSTY WINDS CAN ALSO BE EXPECTED OVER THE
MOUNTAINS THROUGH THE ENTIRE PERIOD...PRODUCING CONSIDERABLE
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ESPECIALLY OVER THE MOUNTAINS PASSES.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST MONDAY...

* TIMING...SNOW WILL CONTINUE...BECOMING HEAVY AT TIMES LATE
  TONIGHT AND MONDAY...BEFORE FINALLY DECREASING BY MONDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...STORM TOTALS OF 10 TO 20 INCHES WITH
  LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS UP TO TWO FEET.

* WIND/VISIBILITY...WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS 20 TO 35 MPH WITH
  GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 50 MPH ABOVE TIMBERLINE. VISIBILITIES WILL
  DROP TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE DURING PERIODS OF HEAVIER
  FALLING AND/OR BLOWING SNOW. BRIEF WHITEOUT CONDITIONS WILL BE
  POSSIBLE IN OPEN AREAS.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS AND SLOW WINTER TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL
  CONTINUE ACROSS THE COLORADO HIGH COUNTRY THROUGH MONDAY. THIS
  INCLUDES I-70 FROM NEAR GEORGETOWN THROUGH SUMMIT COUNTY AND
  VAIL PASS...AS WELL AS HIGHWAY 40 OVER BERTHOUD PASS AND RABBIT
  EARS PASS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT...
FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES THROUGH TONIGHT AND THEN
  INCREASE AGAIN ON MONDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FROM TODAY THROUGH
  MONDAY WILL RANGE FROM 4 TO 10 INCHES.

* WIND/VISIBILITY...WEST TO WEST NORTHWEST WINDS WILL BLOW FROM 15
  TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH AT TIMES THROUGH MONDAY.
  VISIBILITIES WILL BE REDUCED TO A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES DUE TO
  SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL BE SNOWPACKED AND ICY...SO EXPECT WINTER
  DRIVING CONDITIONS.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
