Tropical Storm Jose has stalled well southeast of Nantucket and will slowly drift toward the southwest and weaken over the next few days. This will maintain strong winds along with large waves and a chaotic sea. Scattered rain bands will persist, especially across the southern half of the waters. A ridge of high pressure may build over the waters for Sunday and Monday. Hurricane Maria may approach the southern waters mid week next week therefore mariners should monitor the latest forecasts from the National Hurricane Center at www.nhc.noaa.gov.
