SEVERAL TREES WERE DOWNED AT MAJOR ROADWAYS, BUT THEY WERE QUICKLY CLEARED BY THE LOCAL DPW AND NATIONAL GRID, WHICH HAD SENT EXTRA LINE CREWS AND TREE CREWS PRIOR TO THE STORM. EMA DIRECTOR STATED THAT CALLING THEM IN EARLY GREATLY REDUCED DAMAGE. THERE WAS STREET FLOODING DUE TO HEAVY RAIN SHOWERS, BUT NOT DUE TO TIDAL INFLUENCE. THE HIGHEST TIDE WAS ONLY 4.6 FT AND FLOODING DOES NOT BEGIN ON EASY STREET, AT BRANT POINT, OR AT EASTON STREET UNTIL IT REACHES 5.0 FT. THERE WAS MINOR SPLASHOVER AND EROSION ON SOUTH-FACING BEACHES. THE HIGHEST WIND GUST ON NANTUCKET WAS 58 MPH.
