Subject: New River Forecast and Warning Services for stream gage
at Waterbury Vermont on the Winooski River.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Forecast Office in Burlington
VT, in partnership with the Northeast River Forecast Center and US
Geological Survey, announces that the Winooski River at Waterbury
Vermont will become a River Forecast Point effective 12 Noon EDT
Monday August 29 2016. The NWS will provide forecasts once daily
during normal and low flow conditions, and more frequently as
conditions warrant during high water or flooding. Flood stage is
set at 419 feet.

Forecast hydrographs for the Winooski River at Waterbury will be
available on the NWS Burlington web page at http://weather.gov/btv
(via the link "Rivers and Lakes") and also at the web site
http://water.weather.gov. These forecasts will be included in the
Daily River and Lake Summary text product (ALBRVDBTV) produced by
the National Weather Service in Burlington VT between 11 AM and 12
PM daily.

Initiating river stage forecasts and flood Warnings for the
Winooski River at Waterbury contributes to the NWS vision of
building a Weather Ready Nation by helping communities prepare to
protect, mitigate, respond to and recover from weather-related
disasters. River forecast services are already being provided for
the Winooski River at Montpelier and Essex Junction.
