...End of Frost/Freeze Program for Adirondacks and Northeast

The National Weather Service will no longer issue Freeze Warnings or
Frost Advisories for the Northern Adirondacks and the Northeast
Kingdom. This includes southeast St Lawrence, Southern Franklin,
Western Essex, and Western Clinton counties in New York, along
with Orleans and Caledonia county in Vermont.

The median date of the first fall freeze is Sept 21 for those
locations and we are two weeks passed that date without a hard
freeze so the program is discontinued for those locations for the
rest of 2017 and will be started again in the spring. People
living in elevated terrain or near lakes within these areas who
have not had a freeze may wish to monitor the latest forecast for
freezing temperatures.

We will continue to issue Frost/Freeze products for the rest of
New York and Vermont until a hard freeze occurs...or until 2
weeks after the date of the average first fall freeze.
