...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON...

A COLD FRONT APPROACHING FROM SOUTHEASTERN ONTARIO IS EXPECTED TO
BE ASSOCIATED WITH A DEVELOPING BROKEN LINE THUNDERSTORMS DURING
THE EARLY TO MID AFTERNOON HOURS. DEVELOPING THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO REACH NORTHERN NEW YORK BETWEEN NOON AND 2 PM...AND
AFFECT CENTRAL AND SOUTH-CENTRAL SECTIONS OF VERMONT MAINLY
BETWEEN 2 AND 4 PM.

THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO INTENSIFY AND BECOME SEVERE AS THEY
TRACK EASTWARD...AND WILL BE MOVING QUITE QUICKLY AT 40 TO 50 MPH.
THE GREATEST POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE ACTIVITY WILL BE FROM THE
EASTERN SLOPES OF THE ADIRONDACKS EASTWARD ACROSS CENTRAL AND
SOUTH-CENTRAL VERMONT...WHERE INSTABILITY IS EXPECTED TO BE
HIGHEST THIS AFTERNOON.

PRIMARY THREATS FROM THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE DAMAGING WINDS AND
LARGE HAIL. HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND
LIGHTNING WILL ALSO ACCOMPANY THESE STORMS THIS AFTERNOON.

INDOORS AND STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. STAY TUNED TO THE NATIONAL
