FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
259 PM EDT THU MAY 26 2016

.DISCUSSION...HIGH PRESSURE RIDGING AT THE SURFACE AND ALOFT WILL
CONTINUE TO SUPPRESS ORGANIZED RAINFALL IN THE MIDLANDS AND CSRA
THROUGH FRIDAY. THE INLAND-MOVING SEA BREEZE FRONT MAY TRIGGER
ISOLATED SHOWER ACTIVITY LATE THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST
MIDLANDS.

THE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL REMAIN WEAK THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT...
PROMOTING POOR DISPERSION FOR THE EVENING THROUGH THE EARLY
MORNING HOURS. GRADUALLY INCREASING LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE WILL SUPPORT
MAINLY LIGHT FOG TOWARD MORNING IN LOCATIONS NEAR RIVER VALLEYS.

SURFACE WINDS FRIDAY WILL BE LIGHT FROM THE SOUTHEAST AFTER
DAYBREAK...THEN INCREASE TO 5 TO 10 MPH BY AFTERNOON. TRANSPORT
WINDS WILL BE SIMILAR. WITH GOOD DAYTIME SOLAR HEATING FRIDAY...
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO BETWEEN 35 AND 40 PERCENT IN
THE AFTERNOON.

ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE AND THE CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WILL INCREASE BY SATURDAY EVENING...AS A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM WELL EAST OF THE FLORIDA PENINSULA MOVES NORTHWEST TOWARD
THE COAST OF GEORGIA AND THE CAROLINAS.
