FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
251 PM EDT TUE MAY 26 2015

.DISCUSSION...SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OFF THE COAST OF THE
CAROLINAS AND VIRGINIA WILL DIRECT AN ONSHORE FLOW ACROSS THE
FORECAST AREA THROUGH MIDWEEK. A MOIST SOUTHERLY LOW-LEVEL FLOW...
COMBINED WITH ATMOSPHERIC INSTABILITY FROM AFTERNOON HEATING AND
POSSIBLE SHORTWAVE ENERGY...WILL PRODUCE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EACH AFTERNOON AND EVENING THROUGH
THURSDAY.

A WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL ONCE AGAIN SUPPORT POOR DISPERSION
TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. CLOUDINESS WILL ONCE AGAIN LIMIT
FOG DEVELOPMENT...WITH AREAS OF LIGHT FOG MOST LIKELY DEVELOPING.

WINDS DURING THE DAY WEDNESDAY WILL BE GENERALLY LIGHT NEAR THE
SURFACE...WITH SOME VARIATION IN DIRECTION MOSTLY FAVORING SOUTH.
IN THE MIXING LAYER...SOUTH-SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL HAVE SPEEDS OF
5 TO 10 MPH. MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL GENERALLY RANGE
FROM 50 TO 55 PERCENT.
