Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
252 PM EDT Thu Mar 23 2017

.DISCUSSION...High pressure building east across the Mid-Atlantic
coastal plain will extend down over the forecast area through Friday.
A cool and dry pattern will remain in place. Poor dispersion is
expected overall this evening through mid-morning Friday. Low-level
moisture will be minimal, and with some weak mixing late tonight,
fog is not expected to develop.

Surface winds Friday will be from the east less than 5 mph after
daybreak, then become southeast at 5 to 10 mph by afternoon.
Transport winds will become south around 10 mph. With an onshore
flow developing during the day, relative humidities will be
somewhat higher than today, with values dropping into the 35 to
40 percent range in the afternoon. Patchy fog may develop late
Friday night.
