FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA FOR SOUTH CAROLINA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
254 PM EDT THU APR 17 2014

.DISCUSSION...STRONG HIGH PRESSURE PUSHING DRY AIR DOWN FROM THE
NORTHEAST STATES WILL WEAKEN SOMEWHAT ON FRIDAY...AS LOW PRESSURE
TAKES SHAPE DOWN IN THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO. AS A RESULT...A COOL
BUT INCREASINGLY MOIST AIRFLOW WITH THE SUPPORT OF UPPER LEVEL ENERGY
WILL SPREAD CLOUDS AND EVENTUALLY RAIN OVER THE AREA.

THE RELATIVELY DRY AIRMASS TOGETHER WITH SOME LOW-LEVEL MIXING FROM
GENTLE NORTHEAST BREEZES WILL PRECLUDE FOG FORMATION AGAIN TONIGHT.
DISPERSION WILL BE FAIR.

THE OVERNIGHT INVERSION WILL BREAK UP BY ABOUT 9 AM FRIDAY MORNING.
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP INTO THE 50 TO 55 PERCENT RANGE FRIDAY
AFTERNOON...WITH LOWER MIXING HEIGHTS. NORTHEAST SURFACE WINDS WILL
BE SUSTAINED NEAR 10 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS TO 15 TO 20 MPH. TRANSPORT
WINDS WILL BE NORTHEAST AND SUSTAINED NEAR 20 MPH FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
