FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
259 PM EDT SAT AUG 27 2016

.DISCUSSION...A WEAK TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE NEAR THE SOUTH
CAROLINA-NORTH CAROLINA BORDER WILL PROMOTE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE NORTHERN MIDLANDS LATE THIS AFTERNOON
INTO THE EVENING. THE WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL CONTINUE TO
SUPPORT POOR DISPERSION LATE THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY
MORNING. ENOUGH LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE WILL BE PRESENT FOR PATCHY
FOG DEVELOPMENT OVERNIGHT.

SURFACE WINDS SUNDAY WILL BE FROM THE NORTHEAST LESS THAN 5 MPH
AFTER DAYBREAK...THEN BECOME EAST-NORTHEAST ASROUND 10 MPH
BY AFTERNOON. TRANSPORT WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 10 TO 15 MPH.
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO NEAR 45 PERCENT.

AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE CURRENTLY
WELL OFF THE SOUTHEASTERN US COAST WILL APPROACH THE AREA SUNDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY...AND PROVIDE ATMOSPHERIC ENERGY TO
SUPPORT SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
