FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
300 PM EDT SAT JUL 4 2015

.DISCUSSION...AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL REMAIN
DRAPED OVER THE REGION THROUGH SUNDAY...AS A SURFACE COLD FRONT
SETTLES SOUTH CLOSE TO THE NORTH-SOUTH CAROLINA BORDER. LITTLE
CHANGE IS EXPECTED ON MONDAY...ALTHOUGH THE FRONT MAY BEGIN TO
LIFT BACK TO THE NORTH. AMPLE ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE WILL BE ON HAND
AS WELL.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EACH AFTERNOON WILL
DEPEND IN PART UPON ENOUGH HEATING TO DESTABILIZE THE ATMOSPHERE.
RIGHT NOW...MORE INSTABILITY TOGETHER WITH UPPER LEVEL ENERGY
IS EXPECTED TO BRING INCREASED ACTIVITY SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

THE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL RELAX TONIGHT...RESULTING IN POOR
DISPERSION. HOWEVER...MUCH CLOUDINESS WILL CONTINUE TO LIMIT
ANY FOG DEVELOPMENT.

WINDS SUNDAY AFTERNOON WILL BE FROM THE SOUTHWEST AT 10 TO
15 MPH NEAR THE SURFACE AND IN THE MIXING LAYER.
MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL BE AROUND 50 PERCENT.
