000 FNUS52 KCAE 051853 FWFCAE FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC 253 PM EDT SUN JUL 5 2015 .DISCUSSION...AN UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL KICK OUT OF TN INTO THE OHIO VALLEY TONIGHT AND MONDAY...BRINGING IN WARMER AND MORE UNSTABLE AIR INTO OUR REGION. AS WE WILL BE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE UPPER LOW...AMPLE ATMOSPHERIC MOISTURE WILL BE PULLED NORTHWARD FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO THROUGH THE PERIOD. THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EACH AFTERNOON WILL DEPEND IN PART UPON ENOUGH HEATING TO DESTABILIZE THE ATMOSPHERE AND TIMING OF ANY SUPPORTING UPPER LEVEL TROUGHS SPINNING AROUND THE LOW. MORE INSTABILITY TOGETHER WITH UPPER LEVEL ENERGY IS EXPECTED TO BRING INCREASED ACTIVITY THROUGH MONDAY...WITH DEVELOPMENT CHANCES DECREASING SOMEWHAT ON TUESDAY. MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL BE AROUND 40-45 PERCENT MONDAY... DROPPING SLIGHTLY TO AROUND 35 PERCENT TUESDAY. DAYTIME WINDS ARE FORECAST TO BE FROM THE SOUTHWEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH NEAR THE SURFACE AND IN THE MIXING LAYER MONDAY...SHIFTING SOUTHWEST TO WEST AT 8 TO 10 MPH ON TUESDAY. OVERNIGHT DISPERSION SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING IS EXPECTED TO BE GENERALLY FAIR WITH A LIGHT BREEZE EXCEPT IN ISOLATED AREAS SHELTERED BY TERRAIN. THE GRADIENT WILL RELAX MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING WITH GENERALLY POOR DISPERSION AND A CHANCE FOR PATCHY AREAS OF FOG IN LOW-LYING AREAS NEAR BODIES OF WATER.
