Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
256 PM EDT Mon Aug 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...High pressure centered off the East Coast will
circulate an onshore flow with increased low-level moisture in
the forecast area through Tuesday. Isolated to scattered showers
and thunderstorms through early this evening will favor the
southeastern part of the Midlands and CSRA. A slight increase
in shower and thunderstorm coverage across the entire area is
expected Tuesday.

A weak pressure gradient will support poor dispersion from late
this evening through early Tuesday morning. Patchy fog will occur
during the early morning hours Tuesday with any fog dissipating
around 900 am.

Surface winds Tuesday will be from the south-southwest less than
5 mph after daybreak, then increase to 5 to 10 mph during the
afternoon. Transport winds will be southwest at 6 to 12 mph
from late morning through the afternoon.
