Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
248 PM EDT Sat Mar 25 2017

.DISCUSSION...Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms are expected
mainly during the daytime Sunday with upper-level energy crossing the
area from the west. With high pressure east of the area and a low pressure
frontal boundary slowly approaching from the west, the pressure gradient
will be tight enough to support fair dispersion this evening through early
Sunday morning. Increased low-level moisture from an onshore air flow will
aid in the development of patchy light fog late tonight, although
cloudiness will help keep temperatures up and minimize the fog.

Surface winds Sunday will be from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph...then
become south at 10 to 15 mph by afternoon. Transport winds will be
similar. Relative humidities will drop to near 40 percent.

The frontal boundary will be near the area through the early part of
the week, with scattered showers remaining in the forecast.
