FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
412 AM EDT MON JUL 6 2015

.DISCUSSION...WEAK LEE-SIDE TROUGHING OVER THE AREA TODAY COMBINED
WITH SUFFICIENT MOISTURE WILL PROMOTE SCATTERED CONVECTION THIS
AFTERNOON WITH THE BEST CHANCE ACROSS THE EASTERN PART OF THE
FORECAST AREA WHERE MOISTURE IS SLIGHTLY HIGHER. MOISTURE WILL BE
A BIT LOWER ON TUESDAY BUT DIURNAL HEATING IS STILL EXPECTED TO
PROVIDE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED AFTERNOON CONVECTION.

MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL BE AROUND 40 TO 45
PERCENT TODAY...DROPPING SLIGHTLY TO AROUND 35 PERCENT TUESDAY.

SURFACE WINDS WILL BE OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST TODAY AT AROUND 8
KNOTS OR LESS. WINDS WILL BECOME LIGHT AFTER SUNSET RESULTING IN
POOR TO FAIR OVERNIGHT DISPERSION. WINDS ON TUESDAY WILL BACK TO
SOUTH-SOUTHWESTERLY AT AROUND 10 KNOTS OR LESS.

A 15 TO 20 KNOT NOCTURNAL LOW LEVEL JET AND SLIGHTLY DRIER AIR
MOVING INTO THE AREA SHOULD HELP LIMIT FOG DEVELOPMENT TUESDAY
MORNING.
