.DISCUSSION...LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK EAST SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS
NORTH CAROLINA TODAY AND A COLD FRONT WILL PUSH SOUTH ACROSS THE
REGION LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.  A STATIONARY FRONTAL
BOUNDARY EXISTS ACROSS THE NORTHERN MIDLANDS THIS MORNING. SOUTH
OF THE FRONT WINDS WILL BE STRONG GENERALLY FROM THE WEST 10
TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 25-30 MPH...WHILE NORTH OF THE FRONT
WINDS SHOULD BE FROM THE NORTH TO NORTHEAST AROUND 10 TO 15 MPH.

DIURNAL HEATING WILL LEAD TO MODERATE INSTABILITY WHICH COULD
SUPPORT SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH SOME BEING
STRONG IN THE VICINITY OF THE SLOWLY SOUTHWARD MOVING BOUNDARY.
MIXING HEIGHTS REMAIN RELATIVELY LOW NORTH OF THE FRONT AROUND
3000 FT OR LOWER WHILE SOUTH OF THE FRONT MIXING HEIGHTS WILL
BE ABOVE 5000 FT. SOME FOG EXPECTED THIS MORNING IN THE NORTHERN
MIDLANDS BUT FOG NOT EXPECTED TO BE AN ISSUE TONIGHT. MIN RH
VALUES SHOULD RANGE FROM 35 PERCENT TO 45 PERCENT.  WINDS BEHIND
THE FRONT TONIGHT WILL BE FROM THE NORTH AROUND 10 MPH.
