Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
148 PM EDT Thu Sep 21 2017

.DISCUSSION...Surface high pressure will remain in the region
through the weekend. Upper troughing will be over the area through
Friday night, which combined with strong surface heating should
help support scattered thunderstorms. Upper ridging will begin to
push back into the area Saturday and help diminish the thunderstorm
chance. Wind will be light and variable but mainly east-northeast
around 5 mph during the day Friday, and northeast 5 to 10 mph
Saturday. There will be areas of fog during the early morning hours
Friday and Saturday. Dissipation will occur around 900 am.
