...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO
2 AM EDT TUESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL
FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO
2 AM EDT TUESDAY.

* LOCATIONS...LOW-LYING AREAS OF SOUTH COASTAL SOUTH CAROLINA AND
  NORTH COASTAL GEORGIA THAT ARE ADJACENT TO THE ATLANTIC...TIDAL
  RIVERS...MARSHES...HARBORS AND THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY. THIS
  INCLUDES DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON.

* TIDE LEVELS...TIDES WILL REACH BETWEEN 7.3 AND 7.6 FEET MEAN
  LOWER LOW WATER IN THE CHARLESTON HARBOR AND 9.3 TO 9.6 FT MEAN
  LOWER LOW WATER AT FORT PULASKI AROUND HIGH TIDE TONIGHT.

* IMPACTS...MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING IS EXPECTED. INUNDATION OF
  SALTWATER IN AND NEAR LOW-LYING COASTAL AREAS COULD LEAD TO SOME
  ROAD CLOSURES AND FLOODING OF PROPERTIES. PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY 80
  BETWEEN WILMINGTON ISLAND AND TYBEE ISLAND COULD FLOOD AND
  MOTORISTS SHOULD PLAN ACCORDINGLY. IN DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON...
  SALT WATER FLOODING IS LIKELY IN THE NORMAL FLOOD PRONE AREAS.

* TIMING...THE WORST FLOODING WILL OCCUR WITHIN AN HOUR EITHER
  SIDE OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDE WILL OCCUR IN THE CHARLESTON HARBOR
  AROUND 1134 PM...AROUND 1241 AM IN THE BEAUFORT RIVER AT
  BEAUFORT AND 1140 PM AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE SAVANNAH RIVER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE PREPARED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ROAD CLOSURES AND MINOR
FLOODING OF PROPERTIES. IF TRAVEL IS NECESSARY...DO NOT ATTEMPT
TO DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
