...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST TODAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A COASTAL
FLOOD ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST TODAY.

* LOCATION...LOW-LYING AREAS ALONG THE GEORGIA COAST...INCLUDING
  AREAS BETWEEN SAVANNAH AND TYBEE ISLAND.

* TIDE LEVELS...TIDES ARE EXPECTED TO PEAK AROUND 9.2 FEET MEAN
  LOWER LOW WATER AT FORT PULASKI.

* TIMING...THE WORST FLOODING WILL OCCUR WITHIN AN HOUR EITHER
  SIDE OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDE WILL OCCUR AT FORT PULASKI AROUND
  1009 AM THIS MORNING.

* IMPACTS...SHALLOW SALT WATER FLOODING IS EXPECTED. INUNDATION OF
  SALT WATER IN AND NEAR LOW-LYING COASTAL AREAS COULD LEAD TO
  SOME ROAD CLOSURES AND FLOODING OF PROPERTIES. THE POTENTIAL FOR
  A COMBINATION OF SALT AND FRESH WATER FLOODING COULD INCREASE IF
  HEAVY RAIN FALLS AROUND TIME OF HIGH TIDE THIS MORNING.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE PREPARED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ROAD CLOSURES AND MINOR
FLOODING OF PROPERTIES. IF TRAVEL IS NECESSARY...DO NOT ATTEMPT
TO DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.

  COAST...INCLUDING DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON.

* TIDE LEVELS...TIDES ARE EXPECTED TO PEAK BETWEEN 7.1 AND 7.4
  FEET MEAN LOWER LOW WATER IN THE CHARLESTON HARBOR.

* TIMING...THE WORST FLOODING WILL OCCUR WITHIN AN HOUR EITHER
  SIDE OF HIGH TIDE. HIGH TIDE WILL OCCUR IN THE CHARLESTON
  HARBOR AROUND 1003 AM THIS MORNING AND AROUND 1104 AM IN THE
  BEAUFORT RIVER AT BEAUFORT.
