...VERY MINOR COASTAL FLOODING POSSIBLE ALONG THE CHARLESTON
COUNTY COAST THIS EVENING...

PERSISTENT NORTHEAST WINDS COMBINED BY LINGERING ASTRONOMICAL
INFLUENCES WILL MAINTAIN ABOVE NORMAL TIDES ALONG THE LOWER SOUTH
CAROLINA COAST. TIDE LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO PEAK 6.7 TO 6.9 FT
MEAN LOWER LOW WATER IN THE CHARLESTON HARBOR JUST AFTER 10 PM
EDT. THIS WILL RESULT IN VERY MINOR SALT WATER INUNDATION IN SOME
OF THE NORMALLY FLOOD PRONE AREAS OF DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON AND OTHER
AREAS ALONG THE CHARLESTON COUNTY COAST. MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO
AVOID AREAS OF STANDING SALT WATER.

THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT TIDES COULD SLIGHTLY HIGHER LEVELS
TONIGHT. SHOULD THIS OCCUR...THE DEGREE OF SHALLOW COASTAL
FLOODING WILL INCREASE AND A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY MAY BE NEEDED.
