...REMAIN ALERT FOR PATCHY BLACK ICE ON ROADS AND OTHER PAVED
SURFACES...

TEMPERATURES WILL FALL INTO THE LOW 30S THIS MORNING AND THIS MAY
CAUSE SOME RE-FREEZING OF LINGERING MOISTURE ON PAVED SURFACES
SUCH AS BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES...ROADS...PARKING LOTS...AND
SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS. PATCHY BLACK ICE MAY OCCUR WITH THE BEST
CHANCE FOR AREAS ACROSS INTERIOR SOUTHEAST SOUTH CAROLINA
INCLUDING LOCATIONS ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM MONCKS
CORNER...TO SUMMERVILLE...TO WALTERBORO...AND ALLENDALE.

BLACK ICE IS DIFFICULT TO SEE AND DISTINGUISH FROM DRY SURFACES.
THE DECEPTIVE NATURE OF BLACK ICE CAN CATCH YOU UNAWARE WHILE YOU
ARE DRIVING OR WALKING...CAUSING YOU TO LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR
MOTOR VEHICLE OR TO SLIP AND FALL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

IF YOU PLAN TO DRIVE OR WALK...REMAIN ALERT FOR BLACK ICE. SLOW
YOUR DRIVING SPEED AND USE CARE WHEN WALKING ON SIDEWALKS...
DRIVEWAYS OR PARKING LOTS.  SLIPS AND FALLS CONSTITUTE A LEADING
CAUSE OF INJURIES DURING WINTER WEATHER.
