A RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 83 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE 3RD OF NOVEMBER...BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 80 SET IN 1974. THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF 37 ON NOVEMBER 12TH WAS THE LATEST FIRST SUB- 40 DEGREE TEMPERATURE ON RECORD. CLIMATE RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT AT RONALD REAGAN NATIONAL AIRPORT SINCE AUGUST OF 1941. ADDITIONAL TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR THE WASHINGTON DC AREA EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF 1872. PRECIPITATION RECORDS EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF 1871. SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN JANUARY OF 1884.
