...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 5/8/2016 TORNADO EVENT

...EF2 Damage Northeast of Catharine...

.OVERVIEW...A vigorous upper level trough rotating around an upper level
low centered in southeast Wyoming moved into western Kansas during the
afternoon hours on 8 May. Very strong mid and upper level flow provided
a favorable shear environment for development of supercell thunderstorms.
Hail up to three inches in diameter and at least three tornadoes
occurred during the afternoon and evening hours in central and northern
Kansas.
