...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM CDT /3 AM MDT/
SATURDAY TO 7 PM CDT /6 PM MDT/ SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for Heavy Snow, which is in effect from 4 AM CDT /3
AM MDT/ Saturday to 7 PM CDT /6 PM MDT/ Sunday. The Winter Storm
Watch is no longer in effect.

* TIMING...Beginning early Saturday morning. Snow may mix with or
  temporarily change to rain in the afternoon. Heaviest snow
  Saturday Night and Sunday.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 to 12 inches with locally higher amounts.

* WIND...North at 25 to 40 mph, gusting to 55 mph Sunday.

* MAIN IMPACT...Severe impacts likely! Widespread tree damage
  possible due to loading on trees from heavy, wet snow. Lateral
  wind load will exacerbate loading issues on vulnerable trees
  with significant foliage. Expect power outages.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring.  Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight...
food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Storm Watch, which is in effect from Saturday morning through
Sunday evening.

* TIMING...Beginning Saturday evening. Heaviest snow during the
  day Sunday.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...3 to 7 inches.

* WIND...North at 25 to 40 mph, gusting to 55 mph Sunday.

* MAIN IMPACT...Significant impacts likely! Expect some tree limb
  damage due to loading on trees from heavy, wet snow. Lateral
  wind load will exacerbate loading issues on vulnerable trees
  with significant foliage. Some power interruptions possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
