...Periods of Heavy-Wet Snowfall Possible...

An area of precipitation moving across the area has brung and
will continue to bring periods of rain, wintry mixes, heavy- wet
snow and possible thundersnow as it slides east to east-southeast
across the area this morning. Many morning commutes may be
affected, including the Des Moines and Ames metro areas.

The switch from rain to wintry mix and snow may be quick and
result in drastically reduced visibilities and quickly
deteriorating road and travel conditions as roads become snow
covered. Total accumulations of a couple of inches may be
possible. This activity will end from west to east through the
morning hours.

Please use caution when traveling this morning and allow for extra
time to reach your destination.
