* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

  Wright County in north central Iowa...
  Western Franklin County in north central Iowa...

* Until 1245 PM CDT.

* At 1140 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Lehigh to 6 miles northeast of Fraser to near
  Kelley to Alleman, moving northeast at 50 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts with brief tornadoes possible.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Ames, Ankeny, Fort Dodge, Johnston, Boone, Webster City, Nevada,
  Iowa Falls, Clarion, Eldora, Dakota City, Eagle Grove, Story City,
  Polk City, Huxley, Belmond, Slater, Roland, Jewell Junction, and
  Gilbert.

This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 98 and 171.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and
widespread significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. These storms may cause serious injury
and significant property damage.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for central Iowa.
