...NWS Survey Team Assigns Preliminary Rating of EF-2 to the April 2
Conyers Tornado...
...Crisp and Houston County Surveys Ongoing...

A survey team from the National Weather Service office in Peachtree
City GA determined the damage in and near Conyers in Rockdale County
that occurred late evening on April 2nd was due to a EF-2 tornado
with maximum winds of 115 mph. Data and final details of the survey
are still be collected and a final preliminary report will be issued
later tonight or Thursday.

Another survey team in Crisp County is still investigating damage.

The NWS and Houston County Emergency Management are also
coordinating an evaluation of damage in the Centerville and Warner
Robins areas.

Final storm survey assessment details will be sent via Public
Information Statements and will also available on our website at
http://weather.gov/ffc
