A survey team from the National Weather Service office in Peachtree
City GA determined the damage in and near Conyers in Rockdale County
that occurred late evening on April 2nd was due to an EF-2 tornado
with maximum winds of 115 mph. The tornado touched down around 11:49
PM EDT Tuesday, April 2, near the 3200 block of Klondike Rd
southwest of Conyers and traveled east-northeast 9.5 miles downing
thousands of trees, some landing on homes, businesses and vehicles.
The tornado lifted around 12:06 AM EDT Wednesday, April 3, near the
intersection of N Tower Way NE and Georgia-138. The maximum path
width was 800 yards.

Another survey team in Crisp County determined the damage over
western part of the county southwest of Cordele was due to an EF-1
tornado with maximum winds of 100 mph.

The NWS and Houston County Emergency Management are also
coordinating an evaluation of damage in the Centerville and Warner
Robins areas.

Details of these damage tracks are still being collected and updated
preliminary reports will be issued tonight or Thursday via Public
Information Statements. This information will also be available on
our website at http://weather.gov/ffc.
