...PRELIMINARY STORM DAMAGE SOUTHEAST OF PRESCOTT...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FLAGSTAFF CONDUCTED A PRELIMINARY
DAMAGE SURVEY THIS AFTERNOON SOUTHEAST OF THE CITY OF PRESCOTT FOR
WIND DAMAGE FROM SATURDAY`S STORMS. BELOW IS THE INFORMATION THAT
HAS BEEN COLLECTED SO FAR.

EVENT DATE: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2014.

EVENT TIME (ESTIMATED): 2:30 PM MST.

EVENT LOCATION: STORM DAMAGE WAS ABOUT 6 MILES SOUTHEAST OF THE CITY
OF PRESCOTT AND EAST OF SENATOR HIGHWAY NEAR GROOM CREEK.

DAMAGE DESCRIPTION: NUMEROUS PONDEROSA PINE TREES SNAPPED
WITH SOME TREES UPROOTED. SOME HOME DAMAGE TO SIDING AND ROOF
MATERIAL...AS WELL AS DAMAGE FROM TREES FALLING ONTO HOMES.

INFORMATION IS STILL BEING COLLECTED AND ASSESSED AT THIS TIME TO
DETERMINE WHETHER THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY THUNDERSTORM DOWNBURST
WINDS OR A TORNADIC STORM. FURTHER INFORMATION WILL ALSO DETERMINE A
MORE PRECISE LENGTH AND WIDTH OF THE DAMAGE PATH.
