...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING ABOVE 8000 FEET...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a
Winter Storm Watch above 8000 feet, which is in effect from
Thursday evening through Saturday morning.

* TIMING...Scattered rain and snow showers will develop Thursday
  afternoon with rain changing to all snow Thursday night and
  increasing in coverage. The snow will continue off an on through
  Friday night, before ending Saturday morning.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 to 12 inches with amounts up to 20 inches
  possible above 9000 feet.

* SNOW LEVEL...Between 7000 and 8000 feet.

* WINDS...Northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* VISIBILITY...dropping to less than 1 mile at times in heavy snow
  and blowing snow.

* IMPACTS...Highway 191 above 8000 feet may become icy, slushy and
  snow packed, especially during the overnight hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
