...VERY HEAVY RAINFALL APPROACHING THE CHARLOTTE METRO AREA...

AT 820 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF
HEAVY RAIN SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM
FOREST CITY...TO LINCOLNTON...TO SALISBURY...MOVING EAST AT
AROUND 20 MPH. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES...WITH LOCALIZED
AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 2 INCHES HAVE BEEN COMMON WITH THIS LINE OF
SHOWERS AND STORMS.

THESE SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL PASS OVER THE CITY OF CHARLOTTE AND
SURROUNDING AREAS BETWEEN 9 PM AND MIDNIGHT. ALTHOUGH MUCH OF THE
CHARLOTTE METRO AREA IS EXPECTED TO JUST SEE BENEFICIAL RAINFALL...
A SMALL AREA FROM THE NORTH SIDE OF CHARLOTTE TO MOUNT HOLLY
RECEIVED 3 TO 5 INCHES OF RAINFALL THIS MORNING. THESE AREAS WILL
BE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO ADDITIONAL FLOODING IF SOME OF THE
HEAVIER SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS WITHIN THE LINE PASS OVER THESE
LOCATIONS.
