FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS...UPDATED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
1003 PM CST MON FEB 8 2016

.DISCUSSION...

ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED TUESDAY.

OVERNIGHT EXPECT POOR TO MODERATE RECOVER. VERY DRY AIR WILL SPREAD
ACROSS THE REGION AGAIN TUESDAY. AFTERNOON HUMIDITIES WILL BE BELOW 20
PERCENT FOR MOST SITES BUT THE IMMEDIATE COAST. WINDS WILL BE LIGHTER
THAN YESTERDAY AT 5 TO 15 MPH WITH A FEW GUSTS IN THE LATE MORNING AND
EARLY AFTERNOON OF 15 TO 20 MPH BUT THESE SHOULD DIMINISH DURING THE MID
TO LATE AFTERNOON HOURS. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BE OVERHEAD WEDNESDAY MORNING
LEADING TO VARIABLE WINDS IN THE MORNING BECOMING SOUTHWEST LATE IN THE
MORNING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS AS THE HIGH PRESSURE SLIDES AWAY INTO
THE GULF. VERY DRY AIR SHOULD STILL RESIDE OVER THE REGION. THURSDAY
A LITTLE MORE MOISTURE WILL SPREAD INTO THE REGION ON SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST
FLOW.
