...NWS Meteorologists Surveys Storm Damage in Adams and Pike
County Ohio...

The National Weather Service office in Wilmington OH has conducted
a storm survey in Adams and Pike County Ohio. The survey is in
relation to the severe thunderstorms that moved through the area
on March 1 2017.

Preliminary results from Adams County indicate that straight line
winds destroyed a barn on Unity Rd, with wind speeds estimated to
be 80 to 90 mph.

More significant damage to structures in Pike County was
determined to be from a tornado. EF scale for the tornado will be
ascertained after further evaluation by the survey team.

A final assessment including results of the survey are expected
to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information
Statement by 6 pm.
