Public Information Statement
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
541 AM EDT SUN AUG 21 2016

...Preliminary storm surveys scheduled today...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington Ohio is planning to
conduct storm surveys today. These surveys are in relation to the
severe thunderstorms that moved through the area during the evening
of August 20, 2016.

Two locations in Ohio are expected to be surveyed.
* Eastern Darke County, south of Gettysburg and Bradford.
* Northern Delaware County, in the vicinity of Delaware State Park.

Based on eyewitness reports and dual-polarization radar data, it is
believed that tornadoes were responsible for the damage in both of
these locations. The National Weather Service ground survey will
seek to confirm this and determine details regarding the magnitude
and location of damage.

As of this time, the National Weather Service has not received any
damage reports that would suggest a requirement for surveys in other
locations. Individuals who have damage to report are encouraged to
contact the National Weather Service via social media.

A final assessment, including survey results, is expected to be
completed and transmitted via a Public Information Statement later
today.

Results will also be available on our website at weather.gov/iln.
