...ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS CONTINUED ACROSS MOST OF WESTERN AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...

PRECIPITATION OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FAR NORTHERN
CHERRY COUNTY...ALL LOCATIONS SAW PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS LESS THAN 25
PERCENT OF NORMAL. ACROSS NORTHERN CHERRY COUNTY...PRECIPITATION WAS
AROUND 50 PERCENT OF NORMAL. THE COMBINATION OF LIMITED
PRECIPITATION AND TEMPERATURES WELL ABOVE NORMAL THE PAST 30
DAYS...HAS LED TO THE EXPANSION OF ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS ACROSS
WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

AS OF DECEMBER 21ST ACCORDING TO THE US DROUGHT MONITOR...ABNORMALLY
DRY CONDITIONS WERE OCCURRING ACROSS ALL OF WESTERN AND NORTH
CENTRAL NEBRASKA WITH THE EXCEPTION OF WESTERN CHERRY...SHERIDAN
COUNTY...AND NORTHERN PORTIONS OF GRANT AND GARDEN COUNTIES.

THE LATEST 6 TO 10 DAY OUTLOOK COVERING DECEMBER 26TH THROUGH
DECEMBER 30TH...CALLS FOR BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR ALL OF
WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THE OUTLOOK FOR PRECIPITATION IS
ABOVE NORMAL FOR ALL OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

THE LATEST 8 TO 14 DAY OUTLOOK COVERING DECEMBER 28TH THROUGH
JANUARY 3RD...CALLS FOR BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR ALL OF WESTERN
AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THE PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK FOR THE SAME
PERIOD IS FOR ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA.

ACCORDING TO THE CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER...THE LATEST OUTLOOK FOR
JANUARY CALLS FOR EQUAL CHANCES FOR ABOVE...AVERAGE AND ALSO BELOW
AVERAGE TEMPERATURES AND PRECIPITATION FOR ALL OF WESTERN AND NORTH
CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

THE LATEST 3 MONTH OUTLOOK FOR JANUARY...FEBRUARY AND MARCH...FOR
TEMPERATURES THERE ARE EQUAL CHANCES OF ABOVE...AVERAGE AND BELOW
AVERAGE TEMPERATURES THROUGH THE PERIOD. AS FOR
PRECIPITATION...THERE IS A SLIGHTLY BETTER CHANCE FOR ABOVE AVERAGE
PRECIPITATION ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST NEBRASKA THROUGH THE
PERIOD. EQUAL CHANCES FOR ABOVE...AVERAGE AND BELOW AVERAGE
PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST FOR THE REST OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA.

SINCE NO DROUGHT CONDITIONS ARE OCCURRING IN THE OUTLOOK
AREA...AN ABRIDGED DROUGHT INFORMATION STATEMENT IS ISSUED. WHEN THE
ONSET OF MODERATE DROUGHT CONDITIONS BEGIN...AN EXPANDED DROUGHT
INFORMATION STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED ON THE THIRD THURSDAY OF THE
MONTH.
