...ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS WERE PRESENT ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE
NORTHWESTERN AND WESTERN SANDHILLS...AS WELL AS PORTIONS OF FAR
SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...

PRECIPITATION OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS WAS SPOTTY ACROSS WESTERN AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. FOR MOST OF WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA...PRECIPITATION DURING THE LATTER HALF OF AUGUST AND THE
FIRST HALF OF SEPTEMBER...WAS ONE TO TWO INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THE
EXCEPTION WAS ACROSS FRONTIER AND EASTERN HAYES COUNTY...WHERE
PRECIPITATION WAS 1 TO 3 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.

AS OF SEPTEMBER 15TH ACCORDING TO THE US DROUGHT
MONITOR...ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS WERE SEEN ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE
NORTHEASTERN NEBRASKA PANHANDLE...AS WELL AS THE WESTERN SANDHILLS
AND FAR SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA. COUNTIES IMPACTED BY ABNORMALLY DRY
CONDITIONS INCLUDED...NORTHERN SHERIDAN...FAR NORTHWESTERN
CHERRY...HOOKER...MCPHERSON...LOGAN...LINCOLN...KEITH...EASTERN
CHASE...PERKINS AND WESTERN HAYES COUNTIES.

THE LATEST 6 TO 10 DAY OUTLOOK COVERING SEPTEMBER 21ST THROUGH
SEPTEMBER 25TH...CALLS FOR NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR AREAS. ABOVE
NORMAL PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST FOR THE PERIOD FOR ALL OF WESTERN
AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.

THE LATEST 8 TO 14 DAY OUTLOOK COVERING SEPTEMBER 23RD THROUGH
SEPTEMBER 29TH CALLS FOR NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR ALL OF WESTERN
AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THE PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK FOR THE SAME
PERIOD IS FOR BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION WEST OF A LINE FROM
VALENTINE TO HAYES CENTER. EAST OF THIS LINE...NEAR NORMAL
PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST.

ACCORDING TO THE CLIMATE PREDICTION CENTER...THE LATEST OUTLOOK FOR
OCTOBER CALLS FOR ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR ALL OF WESTERN AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THE PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK IS FOR ABOVE
NORMAL PRECIPITATION SOUTH OF A LINE FROM BIG SPRINGS TO ONEILL.
NORTH OF THIS LINE THERE ARE EQUAL CHANCES FOR ABOVE...BELOW OR NEAR
NORMAL PRECIPITATION.

THE LATEST 3 MONTH OUTLOOK FOR OCTOBER...NOVEMBER AND
DECEMBER...CALLS FOR ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR ALL OF WESTERN
AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA FOR THAT PERIOD. THE PRECIPITATION
OUTLOOK FOR THE SAME PERIOD IS FOR EQUAL CHANCES FOR ABOVE...BELOW
OR NEAR NORMAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE PERIOD.

SINCE NO DROUGHT CONDITIONS ARE OCCURRING IN THE OUTLOOK
AREA...AN ABRIDGED DROUGHT INFORMATION STATEMENT IS ISSUED. WHEN
THE ONSET OF MODERATE DROUGHT CONDITIONS BEGIN...AN EXPANDED
DROUGHT INFORMATION STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED ON THE THIRD
THURSDAY OF THE MONTH.
