EASTERN PANHANDLE INTO THE WESTERN SANDHILLS...AS WELL AS PORTIONS
OF CENTRAL NEBRASKA...

PRECIPITATION OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS WAS SPOTTY ACROSS WESTERN AND
NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. A SEASONAL PATTERN CONTINUED ACROSS THE
REGION DURING THE LATTER HALF OF JUNE AND THE FIRST HALF OF
JULY...WITH ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING THE BULK
OF THE RAINFALL ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. NEAR
NORMAL PRECIPITATION OCCURRED ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL
NEBRASKA WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE NORTHEASTERN NEBRASKA
PANHANDLE...PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...PORTIONS OF NORTH
CENTRAL NEBRASKA...AS WELL AS PARTS OF EASTERN CUSTER COUNTY.

AS OF JULY 21ST ACCORDING TO THE US DROUGHT MONITOR...ABNORMALLY DRY
CONDITIONS WERE SEEN ACROSS PORTIONS OF WESTERN NEBRASKA...GENERALLY
WEST OF A LINE FROM VALENTINE...TO ASHBY...TO BIG SPRINGS.
ABNORMALLY DRY CONDITIONS WERE ALSO FELT IN CUSTER
COUNTY...GENERALLY EAST OF HIGHWAY 2 FROM ANSELMO TO MASON CITY.

THE LATEST 6 TO 10 DAY OUTLOOK COVERING JULY 26TH THROUGH JULY
30TH...CALLS FOR NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES FOR AREAS. NEAR NORMAL
PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST FOR FAR SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA...SOUTHWEST OF
AN OSHKOSH TO HAYES CENTER. ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION IS FORECAST
ELSEWHERE ACROSS WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA FOR THE SAME
TIME PERIOD.

AUGUST FAVORS BETTER CHANCES FOR ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ACROSS

80...WITH EQUAL CHANCES FOR ABOVE...NORMAL AND BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE REST WESTERN AND NORTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA. THE
