...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL CHERRY COUNTY
THROUGH 730 PM CDT...

At 654 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles north of Merritt Reservoir, or 20 miles west of Valentine,
moving northwest at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Kilgore, Nenzel, Crookston, and Anderson Bridge State Wildlife
Management Area.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 20 between mile markers 162 and 189.
 Highway 97 between mile markers 121 and 132.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm
including a history of fire starts following thunderstorm passage.
Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in North Platte.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
north central Nebraska.
