Estimated Peak Wind: 75 mph Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/02/2024 Start Time: 08:46 AM EDT Start Location: 1 ESE Wakefield / Nelson County / KY Start Lat/Lon: 37.9578 / -85.277 End Date: 04/02/2024 End Time: 08:46 AM EDT End Location: 1 ESE Wakefield / Nelson County / KY End Lat/Lon: 37.9577 / -85.277 Survey Summary: The National Weather Service in Louisville confirmed straight line wind damage occurred in far southeastern Spencer County, near Wakefield, KY, by the county line. Winds of 70 to 75 mph did damage to a large older barn. Several sections of the barn were thrown 40 yards on top of a Chevy Silverado. The owner of the property had just left to go inside his farmhouse next door by just a few minutes. The owner described a heavy wind and burst of heavy rain when it occurred. There was shingle and soffit damage to the farmhouse. Debris was thrown across Eggen Road, all facing to the southeast.
