330 FZUS63 KMQT 270153 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 953 PM EDT Fri Apr 26 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...Lake Superior is currently situated between a broad 30.5 inch high over New England and a 29.3 inch low over the Northern Plains. The low will track northeast, weakening to 29.6 inches by the time it reaches northeast Lake Superior on Saturday evening. On Sunday, 30.4 inch high pressure will build over northern Ontario as a 29.6 inch low pressure lifts northeast across the Central Plains. This low will continue to track northeast, crossing western Lake Superior late in the day Monday at 29.7 inches. As the low moves over northern Ontario Monday night, a weak 30.0 inch ridge will shift east across the Mississippi Valley. On Tuesday, the ridge will shift toward the Appalachians as the next low pressure of 29.5 inches tracks from North Dakota to far northern Minnesota, passing north of Lake Superior Wednesday.
