Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 29.5 inch low over eastern Upper Michigan moves east
toward New England today. Meanwhile, a 29.4 inch low over the
Northern Plains weakens as it settles southeast and phases with
another low pressure system moving northeast out of the Southern
Plains. The new low at 29.6 inches over the Mid Mississippi
Valley this evening moves east tonight over the Ohio River Valley
while weak ridging builds in over Lake Superior from the
northeast. Weak 30.0 inch ridging holds over Lake Superior through
Friday morning, then a 29.7 inch low pressure trough drops
southeast across the Upper Great Lakes Friday and Friday night.
This will be followed by weak ridging at 29.8 inches Saturday and
Saturday night before an additional trough at 29.7 inches swings
southeast over the Upper Great Lakes Sunday into Monday.
