AS OF 230 PM CENTRAL TIME...ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
BEGINNING TO DEVELOP ACROSS PRIMARILY ROOSEVELT COUNTY IN EASTERN
NEW MEXICO...A FEW OF THESE VERY CLOSE TO THE STATE LINE. THROUGH
THE NEXT HOUR...THIS ACTIVITY IS LIKELY TO EXPAND IN COVERAGE AND
INCREASE IN INTENSITY...EVENTUALLY SPREADING INTO PORTIONS OF THE
WESTERN TEXAS SOUTH PLAINS. WHILE SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY BE
CAPABLE OF BRIEF GUSTY WINDS...THE PRIMARY THREAT WILL LIKELY BE
LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL DUE TO SLOW STORM MOTIONS OF AROUND 10 TO
15 MILES PER HOUR TO THE SOUTHEAST. THIS THREAT WILL BE VERY
LOCALIZED AND RESTRICTED TO NARROW REGIONS DIRECTLY IMPACTED BY
THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORM CORES.
