CONTINUE TO DRIFT SLOWLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL AND
NORTHERN SOUTH PLAINS AND SOUTH-CENTRAL TEXAS PANHANDLE. AT 540
PM...THE GREATEST CONCENTRATION OF ACTIVITY WAS SPECKLED FROM NEAR
KRESS TO HALE CENTER TO ABERNATHY AND WAS MOVING NORTHWEST AROUND
5 MPH. AN ADDITIONAL SMALL SHOWER WAS LOCATED NEAR PEP. EXPECT
BRIEF HEAVY RAINS...GUSTY WINDS TO 40 MPH AND OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO
GROUND LIGHTNING WITH THE STRONGEST STORMS. THE HEAVY RAIN WILL
CAUSE PONDING OF WATER ON ROADWAYS AND AGGRAVATE ANY AREAL
FLOODING EXISTING FROM EARLIER HEAVY RAINS. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
TOTALS OF A QUARTER TO HALF INCH WILL BE COMMON WITH THESE
SHOWERS...WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS NEAR AN INCH POSSIBLE.
