Through late morning, scattered to numerous showers and
thunderstorms will continue to develop and move northeast at 25
mph over much of the South Plains, far southern Texas Panhandle
and portions of the Rolling Plains.

Areas generally north of a Morton to Lubbock to Jayton line can
expect the brunt of this activity. An embedded cluster of heavier
thunderstorms will impact areas between Lubbock and Matador where
torrential rain of nearly 0.5 inch in less than 15 minutes is
possible.

In addition to heavy rain at times, some of these storms will
produce pea size hail and frequent cloud to ground lightning.
