CDT THIS EVENING FOR MUCH OF THE SOUTHERN AND EASTERN SOUTH
PLAINS AND ROLLING PLAINS OF WEST TEXAS DUE TO RELATIVE HUMIDITIES
BELOW 15 PERCENT...WIND SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH AT THE 20 FOOT
LEVEL...AND A HIGH FIRE DANGER...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LUBBOCK HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9 PM CDT
THIS EVENING.

* AFFECTED AREA...AREAS NEAR AND TO THE EAST OF INTERSTATE 27 AND
  HIGHWAY 87...AND TO THE SOUTH OF HIGHWAY 70.

* WIND...WILL BE OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST TO WEST AT 20 TO 25 MPH AT
  THE 20 FOOT LEVEL. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE
  AREA THIS EVENING. THIS FRONT WILL BRING A SHARP WIND SHIFT TO
  THE NORTH AND AN INCREASE IN WIND SPEEDS.

* HUMIDITY...WILL FALL INTO THE 10 TO 15 PERCENT RANGE.

* FUELS: ARE DRY AND CURED.

* TIMING...FROM 1 PM TO 9 PM.

* IMPACTS...ANY FIRES THAT DEVELOP WILL LIKELY SPREAD RAPIDLY.
  OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF
STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES WILL
CREATE EXPLOSIVE FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL.
