...A WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT THE SOUTH PLAINS AREA SUNDAY AND
MONDAY...

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA SATURDAY...WITH VERY COLD
AIR BUILDING IN SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL
ONLY REACH THE 20S AND 30S SUNDAY AND MONDAY...WITH LOWS IN THE
TEENS AND 20S. IN ADDITION...BRISK NORTHEAST WINDS WILL DROP WIND
CHILL READINGS INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY
MORNING. PRECIPITATION CHANCES WILL INCREASE FROM NORTH TO SOUTH
ON SUNDAY...WITH THE HIGHEST CHANCES FOR MOST LOCATIONS LIKELY TO
OCCUR SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING. THE PRECIPITATION TYPE
WILL LIKELY BE SNOW AND SLEET ACROSS MOST OF THE CAPROCK...WITH A
WINTRY MIX OF FREEZING RAIN..SNOW AND SLEET FROM THE SOUTHERN
SOUTH PLAINS THROUGH MUCH OF THE ROLLING PLAINS. TOTAL SNOWFALL IS
EXPECTED TO RANGE AROUND ONE TO TWO INCHES...WITH HIGHER TOTALS
POSSIBLE ACROSS THE FAR SOUTHERN TEXAS PANHANDLE AND NORTHWEST
SOUTH PLAINS. ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH WILL BE
POSSIBLE IN SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE SOUTH PLAINS AND ROLLING
PLAINS. GIVEN THE COLD TEMPERATURES...ROADS ACROSS THE AREA ARE
LIKELY TO BECOME ICY...CAUSING TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. PERSONS
PLANNING TRAVEL ACROSS THE AREA ARE URGED TO KEEP INFORMED OF THE
LATEST FORECASTS AND POSSIBLE ADVISORIES.
