...WINTRY PRECIPITATION RETURNS TO THE AREA...

DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS THIS WEEK WILL TURN COLDER FOR THE
UPCOMING WEEKEND WITH AN APPROACHING UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM.
MOISTURE AND CLOUDS WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD OVER THE WEST TEXAS
REGION ON FRIDAY WITH PRECIPITATION GRADUALLY MOVING FROM WEST TO
EAST DURING THE DAY. BY FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY
MORNING...WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED. PRECIPITATION WILL
END FROM WEST TO EAST ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

ALTHOUGH THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY ON FORECAST
TEMPERATURES...PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN MOSTLY RAIN
OVER THE ROLLING PLAINS INTO THE EASTERN SOUTH PLAINS. THE
SOUTHWESTERN TEXAS PANHANDLE MAY SEE TEMPERATURES COLD ENOUGH FOR
ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY
AFTERNOON. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS UP TO FOUR INCHES WILL BE
POSSIBLE ACROSS THE SOUTHWESTERN TEXAS PANHANDLE INTO THE WESTERN
SOUTH PLAINS. HOWEVER...HEAVIEST SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO
BE CONFINED TO GRASSY AREAS WITH MINOR ACCUMULATIONS ON PAVED
ROADS.
