...A VARIETY OF WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL IMPACT THE TEXAS
SOUTH PLAINS REGION SUNDAY AND MONDAY...

A COLD FRONT ARRIVING EARLY SATURDAY MORNING WILL BE FOLLOWED BY
MUCH COLDER AIR SUNDAY. HIGHS SUNDAY AND MONDAY WILL STRUGGLE TO
WARM OUT OF THE 20S..WHILE LOWS WILL PLUMMET MOSTLY TO THE TEENS
OR LOWER 20S. MOISTURE LEVELS WILL INCREASE SUNDAY LEADING TO
AREAS OF LIGHT SNOW SPREADING OUT OF THE PANHANDLE. THEN...A
SERIES OF DISTURBANCES WILL CROSS THE AREA LATE SUNDAY AND EARLY
MONDAY WITH HIGHER SNOW CHANCES AREA-WIDE. A MODEST WARM LAYER
ALOFT OVER PARTS OF THE ROLLING PLAINS AND SOUTHERN SOUTH PLAINS
COULD LEAD TO CHANCES OF SLEET OR EVEN FREEZING RAIN IN THESE
AREAS.

HEAVIEST SNOWFALL LOOKS MOST LIKELY ACROSS THE NORTHWESTERN SOUTH
PLAINS AND SOUTHERN PANHANDLE WHERE TWO OR MORE INCHES ARE
EXPECTED...WHILE MOSTLY AN INCH OR LESS IS FORECAST FOR AREAS TO
THE SOUTH. ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH WILL BE
POSSIBLE IN SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE SOUTH PLAINS AND ROLLING
PLAINS.

IN ADDITION...THE VERY COLD AIR WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY BRISK
NORTHEAST WINDS AROUND 15 TO 20 MPH SUNDAY NIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY.
WIND CHILL READINGS MAY DROP BELOW ZERO ACROSS THE NORTHERN PART
OF THE SOUTH PLAINS AND EXTREME SOUTHERN PANHANDLE.

GIVEN THE COLD TEMPERATURES...ROADS ACROSS THE AREA ARE LIKELY TO
BECOME ICY...CAUSING TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. PERSONS PLANNING TRAVEL
ACROSS THE AREA ARE URGED TO KEEP INFORMED OF THE LATEST FORECASTS
AND POSSIBLE ADVISORIES.
