Fire Weather Planning Forecast For West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
343 AM CST Tue Feb 20 2018

.DISCUSSION...

Above normal temperatures will prevail areawide today, although
readings will not be quite as warm as previous days. Minimum RHs
will drop to 10-15% from the Presidio Valley and Big Bend to the
Marfa Plateau this afternoon. 20 foot wind speeds will generally
stay below 20 mph so critical conditions are not expected. Fire
weather concerns will decrease Wednesday as a strong cold front
drops temperatures well below normal, along with a chance of
precipitation over the Permian Basin. It will remain warm over the
Presidio Valley and Bis Bend though, but despite minimum RHs of 10-
15% again Wednesday afternoon, 20 foot wind speeds will still stay
below 20 mph sustained.
