000 FXUS64 KMRX 240229 AAA AFDMRX Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED National Weather Service Morristown TN 929 PM EST Tue Jan 23 2018 .DISCUSSION...
-- Changed Discussion --
Radar is showing very light returns across eastern KY, although no ob sites are reporting precip at the ground. The 00Z OHX sounding shows only a thin layer of moisture that reaches up to only the -7 C level, so dendrite growth is unlikely. Model moisture profiles show a decreasing trend to moisture, so the update will take out PoPs and instead mention drizzle or flurries in SW VA. With the overcast cloud cover, temps have been slow to drop. Latest guidance also suggest lows a little above forecast, so the update will give temps a slight upward adjustment.
