A weak closed low can be seen drifting eastward along the Northern Gulf Coast. At the surface, low level westerly to southwesterly flow continues around a low level ridge just to the southeast. Isentropic lift around the western edge of the high is leading to cloudy skies today. Based on latest visible satellite trends, there could be a few breaks across the Southern Valley this afternoon with highs generally in the upper 40s to mid 50s. Dewpoints are running a good 5-10 degrees lower than the previous forecast and made some adjustments to the ongoing forecast. Also, went ahead and removed the small mention of showers across the mountains with the lower dewpoints in place.
