000 FXUS64 KMRX 090302 AFDMRX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Morristown TN 1002 PM EST Fri Dec 8 2017 .DISCUSSION...Difficult forecast this evening. Several Hi-Res model runs over the past few hours have been indicating additional snow showers developing and moving into areas east of I-75 overnight. All models show the snow/no snow gradient being very tight with the best chances for snow occurring across our eastern mountains ranging all the way from SWNC up into SWVA. Current runs still show this same scenario but amounts don`t look as impressive as earlier. Having said that, still bumped up snow totals slightly for most areas east of I-75. Feel like current advisory and warnings still handle the expected additional snowfall well so no updates there. Only real change would be that the previous forecast called for lesser amounts overnight across southwest NC. Current warning for Cherokee and Clay states additional amounts of 1 to 3 inches overnight. Bases on model runs and current radar feel like that number could be closer to 2 to 3 inches. Also made some adjustment to POPs to try and capture the gradient better, while upping chances more along the eastern mountains through the night. Will send out new zones for POP adjustments. All other elements look good for now. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
