FLOOD ADVISORY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PITTSBURGH PA

...The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a flood
advisory for the Ohio River...

  Ohio River At Pittsburgh affecting Allegheny County


.  A low pressure system developing today in the Southwest United
States will sweep eastward over the next 36 to 48 hours bringing
widespread precipitation to our region. Across the Monongahela and
Cheat river basins, the precipitation is expected to fall primarily
as rain. Rainfall amounts anticipated at this time across these
river basins are expected to range from 1.00 to 1.75 inches.

These rainfall amounts will cause rises along the Monongahela River
sufficient to affect the Monongahela River PArking Wharf.

The river is forecast to rise to near 18.8 feet Thursday early
  afternoon.

Impact...At 19.0 feet...Water begins to flow onto the north shore
  riverwalk between the stadiums.

* At 11AM Monday the stage was 17.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to near 18.8 feet Thursday early
  afternoon.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet...Water begins to flow onto the north shore
  riverwalk between the stadiums.
