...HIGH WIND WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST WEDNESDAY...

* LOCATION...THE EAST SLOPES OF PIKES PEAK AND THE RAMPART
  RANGE...THE WETS AND SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS...THE WET
  MOUNTAIN VALLEY...AND THE I-25 CORRIDOR MAINLY ALONG AND WEST
  OF I-25.

* CAUSE AND TIMING...A PACIFIC JET STREAM WILL FORCE STRONG
  WINDS DOWN THE EAST SLOPES OF THE MOUNTAINS TONIGHT THROUGH
  WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* WIND...WESTERLY 30 TO 50 GUSTING TO BETWEEN 60 AND 80 MPH...
  MAINLY WEST OF I-25.

* IMPACT...TRAVEL WILL BE HAZARDOUS ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE
  VEHICLES ON NORTH SOUTH RUNNING ROADS SUCH AS I-25 DUE TO
  STRONG WIND GUSTS AND FLYING DEBRIS. TREE DAMAGE...PROPERTY
  DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES WILL BE POSSIBLE. FLYING DEBRIS COULD
  CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS EXPECTED
TO OCCUR. SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO AT
LEAST 58 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS OF THIS MAGNITUDE CAN CAUSE
HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS...TREE DAMAGE...PROPERTY DAMAGE...
POWER OUTAGES AND PERSONAL INJURY.

IF POSSIBLE...AVOID TRAVEL DURING THE HIGH WIND EVENT. HIGH
PROFILE VEHICLES TRAVELING THROUGH CROSSWINDS ARE AT PARTICULAR
RISK. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP A FIRM GRIP ON THE WHEEL AT ALL
TIMES AND BE PREPARED FOR SUDDEN SHIFTS IN WIND SPEED OR
DIRECTION. WATCH FOR AND OBEY ANY TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS.

AVOID GOING OUTDOORS DURING HIGH WINDS. TREES...POWER LINES OR
FLYING DEBRIS COULD INJURE YOU. INSTEAD...WAIT OUT THE STORM
INSIDE A STURDY BUILDING...AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
