...PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT...

The National Weather Service in Pueblo is changing the Flood
Stage on the Fountain Creek at Pinon (gage ID PNNC2). This change
is effective immediately. The flood stage and all flood
categories associated with this site have been increased by 5.0
feet. This is the result of a decrease of 5.0 feet in the zero-
datum by the U.S. Geological Survey. The Flood Stage is now 12
feet. Action Stage is 11.0 feet, Moderate Flood Stage is 14.0
feet, and Major Flood Stage is now 15.0 feet.

The flood stages in the channel remain the same. Only the numbers
used to measure those stages will change. So whatever used to be
flooded at the old flood stage of 7.0 feet will be flooded to the
same extent at the new flood stage of 12 feet.
